Head of Marketing

RemoteUnited Kingdom, England, London£45,000 - £55,000 per yearMarketing

Job description

About Us

We’re going to say a bad word.

Don’t let it put you off.

Here it comes:

Still with us? Alright, here’s the thing.

Insurance is the single biggest industry in the world – there are more insurance policies than people. But seven in ten people feel their insurer is actively trying to cheat them, and only 13% say they actually trust their insurer - and that’s according to the industry’s own representative body, the ABI. It consistently ranks as one of the least trusted, least recommendable industries on the planet. How can such a massive, ubiquitous thing be so fundamentally broken?

We're Locket, and we believe we can do better. We're building smart insurance – insurance that's exciting, intuitive, rewarding, and there for you every day, not just if you need a payout. Insurance that works with you to actively protect the things you care about, instead of just sitting back and waiting for bad things to happen. It’s everything your old insurance isn’t.

We’re an ambitious, exciting startup with an amazing product. We’ve got a carefully picked team of exceptionally driven, motivated people. We’ve got offices in the UK and Poland, and talent remoting in from across the UK Now all we need is you: a brilliant, energetic, inspirational Head of Marketing to help us bring Locket to the world.

Job requirements

About you

You’re a top-notch Head of Marketing with a flair for moving fast and breaking stuff. You work hard and smart, and you’re not afraid to graft. You know how to tell an amazing story, make people listen, and work out why they should care, and how to make them care.

You’ll be leading the whole marketing department. That means all the autonomy, all the creative freedom, all the responsibility. You’ll be planning, budgeting, delivering and constantly optimising an end-to-end marketing strategy as we grow Locket from the first few adopters to global, rockstar leader in prevention-first insurance. You’ll eventually be leading a team of brilliant creatives and marketers that you built yourself, but at first, you need to be prepared to pick up a shovel and get your hands dirty too.

If you love the hustle - if you’ve got the intensity and discipline to bootstrap a brand into life - you’re going to love it here. We recognise and enable high performers. We don’t micromanage. We give you autonomy and empower you to make things happen. You’ll be a trusted advisor and sounding board and a key driver of the overall direction of the company. If you prefer to coast and have meetings about meetings, this is not the job for you.

The person we hire will have a strong mix of the below.

  • Strategic, creative vision. High intellectual curiosity. You’re an idea machine and a powerful analytical thinker.
  • A Growth Hacker with out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Making it happen, not just on paper. You know how to build a killer funnel and optimise the funk out of it.
  • Deep understanding of PPC, paid social, display, SEO / SEM, ASO, referral, affiliate schemes, email marketing, PR. Like, so deep you can see Adele rolling in it.
  • You’re data-driven, OKR mad. You know how to join the dots. You know how to softly sweet-talk the dots into joining themselves. It’s poetry. It’s like A Beautiful Mind in here.
  • Brand management. Making it live and breathe. Making it credible and loveable, and real. If you woke up with a tattoo of this brand, it would only be like, semi-regrettable.
  • You’ve grown a startup into a successful, profitable enterprise before. Bonus points for fintech, insurtech, smart home, consumer tech.
  • You know a lot about other marketing functions like content creation, copywriting, editing and UX / UI to craft a solid brief, get the most out of your colleagues and/or not enrage them every time you ask them for something.

Min. requirements:

  • Professional experience in marketing (4+ years);
  • Professional experience in a management position (2+ years);
  • Exceptional command of English and ability to offer copy feedback at lightning speed and superhuman accuracy;
  • Analytical and technical skills and the ability to use marketing tools such as Hubspot, Google Ads, GA4, Data Studio, Facebook ads manager, LinkedIn ads, and BI and various web analytics platforms

Salary range: £45,000 - £55,000

Location: Remote-first with offices in Waterloo, Canary Wharf and Lodz, Poland
